The Tessere Ring is a single tile of colour on a slim band of 18K yellow gold: an emerald-cut aquamarine set east–west, held only at its short ends by two polished gold walls, with a round pink sapphire in a full bezel resting at its corner — like the first dot of colour on an empty wall.

In Italian, tessere are the small tiles of a mosaic. For centuries, Italian craftsmen built entire worlds this way, one piece of colour after another.
